Leicester West MP Liz Kendall visited and met with service users and staff from the Foundation Housing SAFE domestic violence project and it’s Female Hostel.
Her passion for women’s issues was evident as she listened to service users explaining that without SAFE supporting them, they would be lost.
Ms Kendall recognised the support provided by Safe and Hostel teams to be of the highest quality. Also evident was the bravery and determination of the women she met during the course of her visit.
Hostel resident Primrose said that whilst she found it difficult to share her story she was grateful that an MP was interested in what she had to say.
Whilst showing empathy for these women, Ms Kendall expressed her resolve to raise awareness of domestic violence and homelessness amongst BME women with other local MPs as well as in parliament.
