Kathy Alick, Chair

Denny Whener, Honorary President

Denny joined the Board in 1989. Following a successful 22-year career in the Royal Army Pay Corps, Denny was initially financial adviser to voluntary organisations, then development officer (finance and fund-raising) at Voluntary Action Leicester. He was a founder member of FHA and was its Chair from its inception to 2004. Denny has been instrumental in the development of a number of community projects in the city.

Rosie Colls, BA Econ (Hons), ACIH, Diploma in Housing, PGCE

Rosie joined the Board in 2006. She is a part-time community development co-ordinator for a Leicester charity and was previously a regulation manager with the Housing Corporation.

Reg Francis

Reg is currently group finance director of a Leicester-based company, having occupied similar senior positions for more than 25 years. He is actively involved in a local community organisation where he has been treasurer for many years. Reg joined the Board of FHA in 2008 to learn more about housing and at the same help the organisation reach its goals.

Kathy Allick

Kathy joined the Board in 2005. She works full-time for Nottingham City Council as a centres co-ordinator for the central area and is involved with project development and community development. Her previous post was asset and resource manager. Kathy was a founding member of Tun Tum Housing Association and chaired North British Housing for several years. She was the East Midlands representative for Places for People.

Kathy has been a Board member of the probation service and chaired the race strategy forum. Kathy has a masters degree in public service management. She is vice chairman of the FHA Board and is its representative on the Audit Committee.

Azim Walters

Azim joined the FHA Board in 2005. He is a practicing solicitor in criminal law with a BA honours degree. He studied law in Trinidad and Tobago and has a BA (Hons) in health studies and a diploma HE in Nursing. He is also involved with a local credit union and cricket club. 

Patricia Powell, Tenant Board member

As a tenant Board member, Pat strongly believes in tenant involvement and is part of the FHA One Group Customer Council. Pat has been a FHA tenant for 15 years and during that time has seen many improvements. Although she does not have a housing background, she has attended training to understand the different areas of support the association provides. She believes it is important to not only know about Foundation’s work but also to influence it from the customers’ perspective.

Janet Harris, Tenant Board member

Janet Harris, an FHA resident for more than 16 years, has played an active role within her community as part of her local residents’ association. Janet believes our skills and experience whatever our background, can benefit organisations such as FHA. She is passionate about influencing service provision at the local and strategic level. She became a Board member in 2009.

Chan Kataria, Group Chief Executive, BSc (Hons), FCIH, MBA

Chan is Group Chief Executive of East Midlands Housing Group and has held numerous positions at senior level in both housing association and local authority sectors since he joined the movement in 1985. Chan was co-opted to the Board in 2005 when FHA joined East Midlands Housing Group.
