Foundation Housing was established in 1990 as a specialist BME housing specialist .
We particularly specialise in providing housing and support services in Leicester to meet the housing needs of African Caribbean people.
This is our core aim but we also seek to cater for the needs of people from all cultures and other diverse needs of the local community.
Our General needs housing provide about 440 homes for people who cannot afford to buy or rent on the open market.
Our Supported housing team provide support over 130 clients funded mainly by Supporting People Grant, both in hostels and through floating support.
As a subsidiary of a larger group, we are more financially viable which will help us to meet our aims, and continue to retain our name and identity as a landlord within the black and minority ethnic (BME) housing sector and will continue to be managed by a Board drawn largely from the BME communities.
